Access Control Technician


Symphony Technology Solutions, Inc., is seeking to hire a self-motivated Access Control Technician with experience in the building systems technology industry. The successful candidate will work directly with clients and internal teams to ensure deliverables fall within outlined scope and budget.

We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will fit within our collaborative, culture. The job requires some overtime or flexible hours, especially around end-of-month or end-of-project deadlines. Limited travel is required. The ideal candidate should have significant installation and troubleshooting experience with and knowledge of the systems and infrastructure associated with Access Control, Surveillance and Intrusion Detection Systems.


  • Duties will include installation, programming, commissioning and troubleshooting systems, 

  • Should be able to install/terminate category and Access Control cabling. 

  • Install and trouble shoot Access Control devices such as card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrical strike, door hardware, head end panels and power supplies. 

  • Assist the sales organization by attending site-walk and pre-bid meetings on project activity. 

  • Track all site visits and keep detailed information of site conditions for use in the design of the engineering solutions. 

  • Provide floor plan takeoffs and project application per Company’s recommended solutions book and technical support personnel. 

  • Ensure that all engineering work meets the customer and Company quality and safety level at all times. 

  • Conduct onsite quality control inspections. 

  • Program and train technicians in programming various security systems. 

  • Identify problem issues and conduct effective troubleshooting activities. 

  • Meet bid schedules and deadlines and work within and have the ability to meet a very strict time frame. 

  • Provide customer training and support. 

  • Work with the Project Manager to develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members. 

  • Use and continually develop leadership skills. 

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned. 

  • Promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. 


  • 5 years plus experience in building systems security technologies industry. 

  • Be able to read building plans and schematic diagrams. 

  • Excellent interaction and communication skills 

  • Candidates should exhibit strength in attention to details, time management, troubleshooting skills, good communication abilities, and teamwork. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturer Certifications (Avigilon, Genetech, Axis, Milestone, Arecont, Honeywell, Hikvision, Brivo, Eagle Eye, etc.) 

  • Low Voltage License 

  • OSHA 30 Certification 

  • Additional knowledge/experience with LAN/WLAN, GPON, Audio/Visual, Commercial Cellular and Public Safety In-Building RF Systems a plus.
