DAS Technician

Nashville, Atlanta

The DAS Technician is a hands-on role that will work closely with the Construction Manager and other Installation technicians. The duties will include but is not limited to: Installing DAS and other wireless equipment such as Outdoor and Indoor antennas, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, CAT 5 cable, DC Power Cable and other appropriate components to NEC standards. This position can contain up to 80% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing DAS/Small Cell wireless equipment using any combination of external and internal antennas, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, CAT 5 cable and other appropriate components to NEC standard at customer job sites.

  • Read, understand, communicate and implement Commercial and ERRCS iBwave designs.

  • Testing of cellular and ERRCS systems using PCtel and spectrum analyzer.

  • Mounting rack, wall and ceiling electronic DAS components.

  • Fusion splice fiber and testing.

  • Connector making for 50 ohm ½” coaxial cable and testing.

  • Understanding of ½” coaxial cable installation best practices.

  • General hours of Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. But ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours if required.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer 2+ years of strongly related experience with DAS/Small Cell installations.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Finger & wrist dexterity & hand/eye coordination.

  • Ability to work from heights such as man lifts, scissor lifts & roof tops utilizing proper fall protection.

  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 80%-100%

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach and with hands and arms, for up to eight hours daily.

  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders (6-8 feet routinely)
